All of Concentus’ concerts enable us to raise money for good causes. Each year we select a new charitable cause to which a proportion of our concert proceeds will be donated.
2024 - we have chosen to raise money for Down Syndrome Development Trust (DSDT) whose services include support to individuals and their families via research based training workshops, outreach, educational enrichment and social groups for children and young people living with Down syndrome.
This charity is particularly close to the heart of one of our newer choir members…. Michael Ball (no, not that one!) who sings in our tenor section has two lovely daughters, one of whom has Down Syndrome. Rose, who has been to see her dad perform in Concentus concerts, is a very enthusiastic audience member. Michael and his family are regularly in touch with DSDT for sports sessions, which Rose loves. Michael says that the work of the DSDT gives a natural break for the family and it provides them with a supportive group that helps Rose to develop and explore like other children.
Let’s help more young people like Rose who is an absolute joy in herself.
