Concentus welcomes a new year, a new term and hopefully new members!

We are known as ‘the friendly choir’ and we enjoyed our return in 2022, following the enforced absence due to the pandemic.  The new “term” starts this coming Monday with rehearsals being held in Willingdon Community School hall starting at 7:15pm.  Never wanting to miss an opportunity to welcome new members, we are hoping to attract even more singers this year, particularly in the lower voice ranges of tenor, baritone and bass, but all are welcome.  As we cover all genres of music, from barbershop to opera, pop and rock to musicals, our programmes usually have a bit of something for everyone.

Do you have a yearning to do something new this year?  Perhaps you know of someone who can sing but is a bit shy on their own?  If the need to exercise more is on your list of New Year’s resolutions, why not go along and see whether Concentus satisfies that burning desire to exercise your vocal chords?!  You can either just turn up on a Monday night or call Claire - 07920430162, or Sue – 07789343514.

For more information about us and what we do, please visit eastbournechoir.com or seafordchoir.com or email info@concentus-sings.com.  We look forward to welcoming you into the Concentus family!

Our air time on Hailsham FM

Having managed to secure a slot last Saturday on Hailsham FM, Chrissie, one of our sopranos and our webmaster, went along to talk to Simon Herbert about the choir and its forthcoming concerts.

Have a listen here to the edited version of Chrissie’s interview.

Our grateful tahnks to Hailsham FM for this opportunity!

Less than 2 weeks to go to our first Summer concert for three years!

The time is fast approaching for our annual performances.  After an enforced absence of three years (at least as far as summer concerts are concerned) we are very happy to be back to performing live concerts and are rehearsing hard, eager to entertain audiences once again.

As ever, we have chosen some challenging, new and familiar pieces to entertain you with.  Hopefully you will recognise a few tunes and be identifying musical favourites from the medleys.  With items ranging from pop to opera there is bound to be something for everyone.  This year we have also chosen to recognise the Platinum Jubilee by adding a few patriotic pieces and the National anthem to the programme, so if you want to come along and wave a flag with us, you’d be most welcome.

The first performance will be at the Baptist Church in Seaford on 11th June, followed by the second on 18th June at St Saviour’s, South Street, Eastbourne.  Both performances start at 7.00pm.

Concert tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £6 for under-16’s, Under 5’s free; tickets for these events are available: on the door; from the Box Office - 07789343514/07920430162; Newberry Tulley Estate Agents, 53 Church Street Seaford; Semantics, 33 Grove Road Eastbourne; Eastbourne Tourist Information Office or via TicketSource -https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on

The choir is also opening its Monday night rehearsals to any singing friends from Ukraine and their host families.  More details can be obtained on either of the above numbers.
